An international team of astronauts willconduct two spacewalks outside the International Space Station thismonth to repair and update the orbiting laboratory, NASA saidTuesday according to dpa. The first six-and-a-half-hour spacewalk is set for August 20 andwill see Russian cosmonauts Gennady Padalka and Yuri Malenchenko movea cargo boom to a new location, install shields to protect thestation from debris and deploy a small satellite. On August 30, US astronaut Sunita Williams and Japanese astronautAkihiko Hoshide will spend six-and-a-half hours replacing a powerunit, installing power cables to prepare for the arrival of a newRussian laboratory and covering a docking port. It is the first USspacewalk in more than year.
