Japanese shares climbed Tuesday as market sentiment was lifted by the yen's fall against major currencies and gains on other Asian markets. The benchmark Nikkei 225 Stock Average gained 44.73 points, or 0.5 per cent, to end at 8,929.88 while the broader-based Topix index was up 2.58 points, or 0.35 per cent, at 749.53, according to a report of DPA.
