At least five people were killed Sunday when two US unmanned drones targeted a compound and a vehicle in Pakistan's north-western tribal region on the Afghan border, dpa quoted an official as saying. Both airstrikes took place in Mir Ali, some 30 kilometers south-east of Miransha, the main town of North Waziristan - one of the seven tribal districts where al-Qaeda associated Taliban rebels have hideouts. The official told dpa on condition of anonymity that drone fired four missiles into a compound, which killed three people and destroyed the mud-built compound completely. The death toll could not be verified as the area is volatile and out of the reach of rescue workers and media.
