Arab League Secretary General Dr. Nabeel Al-Arabi, here to take part in the Arab Peace Initiative Committee meeting which convened in Doha this evening, called for an Arab prompt move to tackle the situation in Syria and prevent bloodshed in the Arab country, warning from Syria's imminent slipping into a civil war. In a key address at the committee's meeting, Al-Arabi said Arab countries should be ready to enter a new phase that necessitate facing the matter on the ground as Annan plan, including the Arab and international initiatives, went in vain. He also called for discussing the situation of Syrian refugees, displaced and stranded. He warned from Israel's indulgence in the matter, citing Israeli media claims that there are chemical weapons in Syria.
