Three soldiers with the NATO-led international coalition force and five civilians were killed in separate attacks in Afghanistan, officials said Sunday. "Two International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) service members died following a roadside bomb attack early Sunday in eastern Afghanistan," the military said. Another soldier was killed in an insurgent attack Saturday in the eastern part of the country, the alliance said but withheld details of the nationalities of the dead troops or location of the incidents. Five people working at a NATO base in Wardak province were kidnapped and killed by the Taliban insurgents, an official said. "Six workers at the base going home for holiday were abducted by the armed Taliban Saturday night in Jalrez district," Shahedullah Shahed, spokesman for the provincial governor was quoted as saying by DPA. "The bodies of five people shot were found Sunday morning in the area," he said, adding that the sixth person had escaped in the dark night and was safe.
