AlHijjah 13, 1432, Nov 9, 2011, SPA - Afghan and foreign soldiers in eastern Afghanistan killed about 60 Taliban insurgents in a rebel attack on the soldiers' base, a government spokesman said Wednesday. The clash Tuesday night took place in the Barmal district of Paktika province near Pakistan, the provincial governor's spokesman said. He said 60 to 70 fighters were killed while the combined forces suffered no injuries. A NATO-led International Security Assistance Force spokesman confirmed that several insurgents attacked an "ISAF facility" in Barmal district.
