Torrential rains and strong winds left 409 populated areas in Ukraine's ten regions without electricity, the press service of the Ukrainian Emergencies Ministry said on Monday. There is immediate report about victims of bad weather. According to the press service, the Cherkassy, Odessa and Kiev regions are the worst-hit areas. In the Kiev region, thunderstorm winds broke trees, tore off roofs and damaged 121 houses, the Mironovka district hospital and five grain storage facilities, Itar-Tass quoted the Emergencies Ministry as reporting. Four people were injured and rushed to a hospital. In the Cherkassy region, the natural calamity claimed a life of one person. Rehabilitation activities are underway. The authorities are estimating the damage.
