The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired the Cabinet session held at Al-Salam palace in Jeddah today. At the outset of the meeting, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques briefed the Cabinet on the talks and consultations which he made last week with a number of leaders of brotherly and friendly countries and their envoys on aspects of cooperation and the overall situations at the regional and international arenas. In a statement following the meeting, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohieddin Khoja, Minister of Culture and Information, said the Cabinet discussed a host of reports on the developments of incidents in the region and, in this regard, denounced the continuing acts of violence and brutal massacres in Syria which left hundreds of unarmed civilians killed or injured, citing the massacre in Al-Tiraimsah village. The Cabinet described these massacres as terrorist and cruel acts that oblige the world community to take decisive measures to protect the Syrian people. He added that the Cabinet was, then, briefed on the preparations done and underway by different government bodies in Makkah and Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah to serve Umrah (minor Hajj) performers and visitors of the two holy mosques during the forthcoming holy fasting month of Ramadan. In this regard, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques has instructed that every possible service be extended to Umrah and Ziarah (visit) performers, wishing them all success. --More
