The Vice Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired the Cabinet session held at Al-Salam Palace here today. In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) following the session, the Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohieddin Khoja said the Cabinet reviewed a number of reports on the developments in a number of brotherly Arab and Islamic countries as well as the acts of violence against civilians in some of these countries, including Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Somalia and Uganda. In this regard, the Cabinet condemned all terrorist acts and bombings that killed and wounded hundreds of innocent victims and undermined security and stability in these countries. The Cabinet reiterated the Kingdom's steady position that rejects terrorism whatever its source and location. The Cabinet also stressed the Kingdom's aspiration to achieve security and stability in these brotherly countries. The Cabinet called upon the brothers in Iraq to uphold the unity of their homeland and brotherhood, and to expedite working on the formation of the Iraqi government to give brotherly Iraq more security and stability. Dr. Khoja also said the Cabinet listened to a report on the outcomes of the meeting of the Supreme Hajj Committee read by Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Second Deputy Premier, Minister of Interior and Chairman of Supreme Hajj Committee. Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz praised the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on achieving higher levels of security and safety for the pilgrims, Umrah performers and holy site visitors, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan. Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz stressed the continuing integration among the sectors concerned with Hajj affairs in terms of implementing security plans, services and regulatory and preventive measures in order to enable pilgrims to perform the rituals with ease and contentment. --More
