Prince Khalid bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Minister of Defense of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, currently on a visit to Turkey, today held talks with Turkey's Minister of Defense Ismat Yilmaz and his deputy Hasan Kamal. At the Ministry's headquarters, Prince Khalid bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz was received by the Turkish minister of Defense and his deputy. Upon arrival, Prince Khalid bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz wrote some remarks in a visitor's book. During the meeting, the Minister of Defense welcomed Prince Khalid bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, wishing him a good stay in Turkey and confirmed the keenness of the Turkish government on enhancing cooperation with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in all fields, including the military field. For his part, the Deputy Minister of Defense of Saudi Arabia expressed thanks to the Turkish Minister of Defense for giving him an opportunity to witness the results of the strong rapprochement made by the military agreement signed between the two countries two years ago upon directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Supreme Commander of all military forces of Saudi Arabia, to further develop the fast growing defense relations between the two countries. In remarks following the meeting, Prince Khalid bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz said "we are now picking the first fruits of this, citing last year's joint exercises and cooperation and this year's joint exercises and cooperation with the air force and bilateral exercises with other forces. It was a result of shared interest by the leaderships in Saudi Arabia and Turkey". The agreement also enjoyed the interest of Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Minister of Defense, to boost this field, particularly bilateral exercises as well as the joint military cooperation committees, he added. Prince Khalid bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz expressed happiness to have met with President Abdullah Gol of Turkey and senior officials and got acquainted to their view points on ways to further develop this work aiming at achieving and maintaining relations between the two defense ministries in the two countries. Then memorial gifts were exchanged. The meeting was attended by the Saudi Charge D'affaires in Ankara Abdulhadi Al-Shafi, Military Attache in the Saudi embassy in Ankara Commodore Mohammed Al-Shehail and a number of senior officials at the Turkish ministry of defense.
