AlQa'dah 8, 1432, Oct 6, 2011, SPA -- On behalf of Prince Khalid bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Assistant Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General for Military Affairs, Prince Khalid bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Commander of the Saudi Royal Land Forces, today patronized the Saudi Pakistani joint military exercise "Samsam 4" held in Gelhem region in Pakistan. Pakistan's Commander-in-chief General Ashfaq Kayani and a number of senior officers of the land force and the army of Pakistan also attended the event. A speech ceremony was held to mark the occasion. Ashfaq said that it was a great honor to have this exercise with the Saudi brothers, describing the event as yet another sign for the tight relations with Saudi Arabia. For his part, Prince Khalid bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz conveyed the greetings of Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, and Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior, as well as Prince Khalid bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Assistant Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General for Military Affairs, to the participants in the joint event. He said the joint exercise is yet another evidence of the firm and deep-rooted cooperation between the two armies. Speaking to the press following the exercise, the Commander of the Saudi Royal Land Forces said this extraordinary exercise will help the Saudi officers and soldiers promote high skills in their fight against terrorism and in mountainous fighting.
