Russia
admitted
Afghanistan
as an observer and
Turkey
as a dialogue partner
on Thursday, dpa reported.
Leaders of the six
Shanghai
Cooperation Organization nations
agreed to accept
Afghanistan
and
Turkey
following the two-day summit
in
Beijing
, Chinese President Hu Jintao said.
Russian
President Vladimir Putin said earlier that admitting
Afghanistan
would be an important step towards reviving the war-torn
nation.
