Chinese President Hu Jintao on Wednesday urged the leaders of Russia and four Central Asian nations to forge greater unity against security threats. Regional governments should "intensify communication and coordination on key global and regional issues to safeguard common security," Hu said ahead of a two-day summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). The leaders of China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan met later Wednesday following a series of bilateral meetings with officials from observer nations, according to a report of DPA.
