Faisal said Saudi Arabia reiterates its support for all initiatives and measures aiming at the fighting of terror regionally and internationally, particularly the UN initiatives poised to implement all relevant resolutions and agreements that comply with the UN strategy for combating terrorism. He expressed confidence that today's meeting would produce the required outcomes, noting that it would be working within its projected goals of enhancing national, regional and international coordination and communication, particularly in the field of exchanging information and experiences and upgrading the degree of awareness, which is considered among the basic fundamentals of the terror combating efforts. For his part, Ban Ki Moon highlighted some efforts exerted by the center, noting that his Special Aide Jamal bin Omer has done a great job in finding some solutions in Yemen. Ki Moon also confirmed that the Kingdom is currently exerting great efforts within the peaceful solution framework regarding the Arab initiatives as well as the great efforts being exerted by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in this field for the sake of bringing about peace, security and stability in the region. On the situation in Syria, Ki Moon expressed belief that Syria is unstable, noting that "the area there" has witnessed a lot of tension and turmoil, calling on the international organization member staff and the world community to carry through the efforts of peace for successful solutions. He also lauded the great effort and support extended by the Kingdom at the Arab League level as well as the gigantic efforts being exerted by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to establish this center which aims at combating terrorism. He voiced hope that today's meeting would lead to new results in support of the efforts and objectives of fighting this plight sought by the world community and humanitarian agencies. --More
