Six police and 19 prisoners were injured Saturday in a blast triggered by Maoist rebels in the central Indian state of Chhattisgarh, police said. According to dpa, the blast ripped through a vehicle carrying prisoners and policemen escorting them from a local court to Jagdalpur in the Maoist-affected Bastar region, Chhattisgarh police chief Ram Niwas said. The incident took place about 200 kilometres south of state capital Raipur. "All 25 people travelling in the vehicle were injured, but four policemen and six prisoners are in critical condition," Niwas said.
