Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Chairs Cabinet Session

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired the Cabinet session held at Al-Salam Palace here today.
At the outset of the session, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques expressed thanks and appreciation of the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Member States for their exerted efforts during the 14th Annual Consultative Summit held in Riyadh last Monday. The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques thanked Allah Almighty for gracing the GCC Member States and their peoples with security, stability, prosperity and development. Thanks are to Allah Almighty first and then to the prudent policies of the GCC leaders, the Monarch said. He also appealed to Allah Almighty that the successful joint action of the GCC be sustained to achieve steady progress and stability, as well as enhancement of the GCC march.
Then, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques briefed the Cabinet on the talks, messages and consultations that took place during the past few days with a number of leaders of brotherly and friendly countries and their envoys on bilateral relations and ways of enhancing them as well as the regional and international developments, including the messages he received from King Juan Carlos of Spain, Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani of Qatar and President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi of Yemen. He also briefed the Cabinet on the telephone call he received from King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein of Jordan and the audiences he held for President Yusufu Mamadou of Niger and Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh of Jordan.
In a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA) following the session, the Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohieddin Khoja said the Cabinet expressed congratulations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques on the 7th anniversary of his ascension to the throne. He added, in this regard, that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques expressed his thanks to Allah Almighty for the countless graces the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is enjoying.
The King said "The great developments witnessed by the Kingdom over decades have been achieved, thanks first to Allah Almighty and then to the loyal men of this country. Since the era of founder King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud, and his successor the kings, we are following, with Allah's help and guidance, this right path to carry out honestly and achieve steady progress, prosperity and stability for the Kingdom."
