Saudi Minister of Health Dr. Abdullah bin Abdul-Aziz Al-Rabiah chaired today at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, the Arab Health Ministers Council's regular 38th session, convened on the sidelines of the 65th session of the General Assembly of the World Health Organization in the presence of members of the Council. During the meeting, they discussed a number of topics on the agenda of the session and approved a number of resolutions, including a resolution on the health conditions in the occupied Palestinian territory including East Al-Quds (Jerusalem) and the occupied Syrian Golan Heights. The session approved the provision of an amount of U.S.$ 200,000 to the Palestinian Minister of Health as an assistance from the Arab Health Ministers Council. They also approved the financial support of U.S. $50,000 for the Arab Organization for blood transfusion services as well as another assistance of U.S. $200,000 to the Republic of the United Comoros to support its health sector. The session stressed support for efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the field of Emergency Medical Care For Crowds and commended the efforts undertaken in this area by the Kingdom's ??leadership, especially in view of the progress realized by Saudi Arabia in this specialized medical care for its intensive efforts spread over a long period in tackling with the large gatherings and crowds each year during Hajj and Umrah seasons.
