JEDDAH — Jeddah Sports Club (JSC) Soccer Academy celebrated the Gandhi Jayanthi at Dunk Football Ground here Friday. After observing a minute's silence in remembrance of Mahatma Gandhi, Sadique Edakkad, event head, made a brief introduction and JSC Academy Chairman Jaffer Ahmed welcomed the guests, trainees, parents and club members. Ismail Kallayi, a prominent social worker in Jeddah, made an inspiring speech on social service and Gandhian view. Another guest Naufal, headmaster, International Indian School Jeddah, also talked about the relevance and importance of the day. The program became very lively when Safer, one of the parents, conducted a quiz on Gandhiji and JSC awarded prizes to the winners. A friendly match, played between JSC and International Indian School Jeddah, was won by the latter 2-0. The guests, JSC members and trainers made it a memorable day by cleaning the ground and surrounding area. — SG
