RIYADH — Prominent Pakistani businessman and social figure Faryad Ahmed Chaudhary feted fellow resident Pakistani Hajjis at a dinner reception at his residence here. Pakistan Ambassador Manzoor ul Haq attended the reception with his family, and was the chief guest of the event. Speaking on the occasion the ambassador said that this year the Haj was tragic because of the crane mishap and the stampede of Mina. “Our thoughts and prayers are with all the martyrs and injured. We are putting every effort for the identification of the dead, locating the missing Pakistani Hajis and taking care of the injured ones,” he said. “So far some of the missing Hajis are located and are the injured under treatment at the local hospitals of Makkah,” he added. “A simple incident can turn into a mishap during the movement of millions of pilgrims towards one direction, We hope and pray that such tragedies will not be happen in the future,” he added. “Saudi Arabia has been doing its best in serving Haj pilgrims at the holy sites. It is really commendable to host such great numbers of Haj visitors from more than 100 countries of the world and providing them every assistance and facilities,” The ambassador stated. The ambassador thanked his host for arranging the reception for Hajis and lauded his kindness. “Faryad has always been so generous for the community and today he has taken the lead with this function to fete the Hajis. May Allah bless him with the best reward,” the envoy said. Faryad Ahmed Chaudhary congratulated the Hajis and thanked his guests in his vote of thanks. Earlier the family of Faryad Chaudhary, his wife, daughters and sons Daood and Aftab warmly welcomed the honorable guests to their residence. The reception ceremony was ably conducted by the renowned writer Javid Akhtar and attended by several families of Pakistani community. Senior embassy officials and their families, including DHM Hassan Wazir, Defense Attaché Brigadier Tahir Gulzar Malik, Air & Naval Attaché GP Asad Ibrahim, Incharge counselor section Faisal Kakkar, Head of Chancery Sardar Mohammed Khattak and third secretary Shahid Iqbal, also attended.
