RIYADH — Pakistan Haj Volunteers Group (PHVG) awarded the volunteers for serving the guests of Allah during the Haj 2014 at a certificate distribution ceremony at the World Assembly of Muslims Youth (WAMY) auditorium here. Pakistan Ambassador Manzoor ul Haq was the chief guest and distributed the certificates among the volunteers. Hassan Wazir, Pakistan political secretary, was the guest of honor.Dr. Zafar Elahi, Jalil Hassan and Azeem Usmani too attended, while Abrar Tanoli ably conducted the program. The chief guest praised the services of the PHVG and assured the full support of Pakistan Embassy and Jeddah consulate to PHVG. Haq said, “The Haj and Umrah visitors might face some difficulties because of the ongoing mega development project of holy mosques but they should respect and abide by the rules and laws of the host country.” Haq also praised the successful Haj mission of 2014. Hassan Wazir stated WAMY is a credible organization and expressed his deep satisfaction over the working relation between WAMY and PHVG. Wazir also lauded the efforts of PHVG volunteers. Adnan Naseer briefed the audience about PHVG through a slide show and stated that they had started PHVG with 108 volunteers and by 2014 their numbers had grown to 3,000 volunteers. Adnan also talked about the services provided by PHVG and the facilities given by the Pakistan Embassy and consulate. Hassan Jalil and Dr. Zafar Elahi also addressed the audience and talked about the importance of volunteer services in Islam especially for Hajis. A large number of PHVG volunteers and noted Pakistani community members attended the ceremony. A special memento were also presented by PHVG to Haq. Earlier, the function started with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur'an by Hafiz Yasir and the program ended with special prayers by Qari Aziz ur Rahman Durrani.
