During Ramadan, Eid and Eid Al-Adha Saudis and expatriates alike feel the joy and share the festivals' happiness by inviting one another to their homes,” said Aziz, a famous Pakistani engineers and socialite during his address to the Majlis-e-Ilm-o-Adab members at the Jeddah's Eid Milan program. Majlis-e-Ilm-o-Adab, Jeddah for the past 30 years had been celebrating Eid by organizing Eid Milan program. This program enables Indian and Pakistani expatriates to see each other and share happiness. This gesture is very inspiring. The gathering and the members of the group, on the eve of Eid, shared the grief of family members of the martyred pilgrims and commended the Saudi government for its relentless effort for the welfare and safety of the Haj pilgrims,” said Aziz. The event was attended by poets, intellectuals, socialites and a large number of people at Al-Ruwais district. The program began with the recitation of a few verses from the Holy Qur'an by Syed Muhammad. Syed Mustafa recited a Naat of famous poet Allam Iqbal. Mirza Pavez Beg, Nasir Barni, Syed Sarwar Salam, Ahmad Nadeem, Afaq Ahmad, Amir Naqvi and Faisal Tufail participated in a live discussion about the unity of Ummah. All the participants in the group discussion later agreed on this point that “unity can be achieved by love, sympathy, and tolerance that are taught by our beloved Prophet, peace be upon him. Both the Eid festivals, Haj, congregation for the prayers and Zakat teach these golden principles.” After the first session the poetry session began. Nasir Barni, Faisal Tufail, Muhammad Mukhtar Ali and Mujahid Syed recited their Naats. The Naats were well received by the audience. Faisal Shaikh was master of the event. Syed Faizan Ahmad proposed vote of thanks. Supplication was offered by Khalid Jawed. He prayed for the souls of the martyred pilgrims during tragic Mina stampede.
