JEDDAH – “Our Beloved Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him was mercy for all. His love and teachings can unite Ummah and the whole humanity. Prophet Muhammad was greatest model of humility, the human race has ever seen. His humility changed the hearts and character of the ignorant Bedouins of Arabian Peninsula and made them exemplary people. To help humanity, Muslims should adopt his example, that will save them from decline and destruction,” said Syed Khaja Najmuddin while addressing the gathering of Majlis-e-Ilm-o-Adab, Jeddah on Friday at Al-Ruwais district.
This month Majlis-e-Ilm-o-Adab's topic was “Humility”. Faisal Imtiyaz, who conducted the event gave reference to the following verses of the Holy Qur'an: “And do not turn your cheek (in contempt) toward people and do not walk through the earth exultantly. Indeed, Allah does not like everyone self-deluded and boastful.” (Holy Qur'an 31:18)
In this regard, supporting his interpretations, he narrated many famous Sayings of the Holy Prophet.
“Our Beloved Prophet became orphan at an early age. This bitter experience had a great impact on his life. For the orphans, that were always at the risk of persecution and exploitation under the scorching sun of poverty, carelessness and cruelty, the existence of the Prophet proved to be a shade. Prophet Muhammad created a society that championed orphans' rights on this planet,” said Syed Amir Naqvi.
“We should inform our children about our Prophet's love for the children. This will not only elevate their mind but also make them better human being,” said Zafar Lakhnavi.
The second session saw a Naat program. Muhammad Jamil, a Naat singer from Faisalabad, Pakistan was chief guest in this session. He recited many famous Naats and received great appreciation from the audience. Some examples from his Naats:
Jiski darbare Muhammad men rasaai hogi
Uski qismat pe fida saari khudaai hogi (Poet Zahoori)
Muflise zindagi ab na samjhe koi mujhko ishqe Nabi is qadar mil gaya
Jagmagaye na kyun mera akse duroon ek patthar ko aaina gar mil gaya (Poet Muzaffar Warsi)
He recited a famous Panjabi Naat of great poet Miyan Muhammad Bakhsh.
Amir Naqvi recited a famous rubaa'i of his great grandfather, a famous poet Syed Agha Hussain.
Mujahid Syed recited his Naat:
Denkhenge Madinah denkhenge, wo arsh ka zeenah denkhenge
Syed Ehsan Bastavi and Allama Mahirul Qadiri's Naats was recited by Syed Faizan Ahmad:
Khuda ka khusoosi karam dekhte hain
Madinah ki galiyan jo hum dekhte hain (Syed Ehsan Bastavi)
Ai name Muhammad Salle ala Mahir ke liye too sab kuchh hai
Honton pa tabassum bhi aaya, aankhon men bhi aansoo bhar aaye
In the beginning of the program, a few verses from the Holy Qur'an were recited by Syed Muhammad. Syed Muhammad, Syed Mustafa, Syed Muazzam and Majidah Tashfeen recited some stanzas from famous Arabic Qaseedah Burdah. Ahmad proposed the vote of thanks.
