MAKKAH — Al-Noor Specialist Hospital performed over 7,000 dialysis sessions for 720 patients, including 224 pilgrims, since mid-August, according to statistics from the hospital. Al-Noor's Kidney Diseases and Blood Pressure Center administers dialysis treatment. The hospital's Director, Dr. Aiman Issam Yamani, said the center recently received 20 modern, sophisticated renal dialysis units provided by the Ministry of Health to replace old units. Five dialysis units have been allocated for hospitalized patients in the hospital's recently established specialized dialysis center. Two other units are in the emergency room. Dr. Yamani said the operational life of a dialysis unit is 20,000 hours. He said the total number of sessions reached over 71,000 per year using 72 modern units.
