MAKKAH — Al-Noor Specialist Hospital in Makkah has set up a 10-bed center for treating sunstroke and heat exhaustion during the Haj. The center will handle expected cases this year due to high temperatures in Makkah and the holy sites. Hospital Director, Dr. Aiman Issam Yamani, said the center, which is the first of its kind in Makkah, will be supervised by the emergency department and will receive sunstroke and heat exhaustion patients round-the-clock. The hospital has also set up a 32-bed recovery center for pilgrims whose condition shows signs of improvement. The hospital has also established an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with 10 beds to handle coronavirus cases. The hospital has also opened specialist clinics to reduce pressure on the emergency department.
