JEDDAH — Tropang Bakhs made short work of Leylati 104-79 to book a berth in the semifinal round from Group B in the PEAK-JBL Basketball Tournament at the Al-Baik basketball court in Khalidia District here.
Tropang Bakhs played a well- organized game throughout. Camina scored 24 points for the winner and was adjudged PEAK Sodas Sports best player of the game.
Hugo scored 31 points for the loser. This tournament is principally sponsored by PEAK Sodas Sports. The co-sponsors are Shoe Arena, Mandhoubiyah Islamic Propagation Office, Jeddah Dawah Center, Deepvision Advertising Company and Bro Mousa Ignacio.
Gensoul Midget Black of coach Glenn Musngi defeated White Team 56-53. The loser was in the driving seat until the dying seconds of the game, but some costly errors handed the initiative to the winner who recovered brilliantly and won the game with its never-say-die plays.
Michael Maddatu top-scored with 23 points for the winner and was named JBL best player of the game. Adam Romualdo led the loser with 16 points.
Juniors Black Team of coach Elner Paner edged Juniors White Team 65-63. Again the game was decided in the last seconds with the loser holding lead by 4 points.
But the winner's man-to-man defense plus a run and gun offense tilted the balance. King Acosta scored 35 points for the winner and was adjudged PEAK Sodas Sports best player of the game. Ahmad Alonto and Densen Dolloso contributed 24 and 12 points, respectively, for the loser.
Awarding of trophies after the game was spearheaded by the organizing committee with the assistance of Gensoul Office, headed by coach Sam Sabangan, Edwin Gonzales and Joel Silvestre and the untiring effort of coach Donald Dolloso.
Desert Warriors thrashed Gensoul 112-86 in the 40 and above division. The winner was unstoppable in its outside snipping.
Hermogines chipped in with 31 points for the winner and was named JBL best player of the game. Nalus contributed 24 points for the loser.
