Batsmen, bowlers share honors in SCC T20

JEDDAH — Gujarat Eagles, Emper Perfumes, Crown Blue, New Young Stars, Tata Motors, Sadafco, ALJ Toyota and Ralco came out on top in their respective encounters in the Saudi Cricket Center (SCC) Morning T20 Tournament sponsored by SCC and organized by WPCA.
Gujarat Eagles beat Rising Stars by 3 wickets. Rising Stars posted 139 for 7 as Irfan hit 40, Asim 37 and Ryan remained unbeaten on 25. Adil took 2-19 and Mukhtar 2-39. Gujarat Eagles reached home (142) for the loss of 7 wickets in 106 balls with 2 balls. Mukhtar Ahmed hit 27, Adil 33, Malik 23 not out and Anwaar 18 not out. Arfan was the most successful bowler with 4-20.
Emper Perfumes had the last laugh against Al-Kabbani Cricket Group by 28 runs. Emper Perfumes produced 123 for 9 as Babar Rana hammered 56 in 37 balls and Sajjad Baba 12. None of the other batsmen could reach the double-digit mark. Imran Qaiser claimed 5-17 and Mohammad Ali 3-30. Kabbani was bowled out for 95 with only Fiaz Ahmed making 42. Abdul Kareem bowled magnificently for figures of 3-14, Usman Amjad had 3-27 and Shahzad 2-13.
Crown Blue trounced Stallions by 38 runs. Crown Blue racked up 172 for 6 thanks to Saqib Butt's 71 off 43 balls with 9 fours and 2 sixes. Saleem Mehar compiled 25 and Naveed remained unbeaten on 20. Waqas took 2-30 and Jawad 2-35. Stallions, in reply, was stranded at 134 for 6 as Waqas Malik blasted 42 and Waqas Tahir 30 not out. Saleem Meher took 2-26.
New Young Stars snatched victory from Mercedes Benz by 26 runs. In a very interesting match, New Young Stars put on 103 for 9 with major contribution coming from Rifaqat Ali — 50 in 33 balls. Habib was the most successful bowler with 4-19 and Javed 3-26. Mercedez Benz, in chase, was restricted to 77 for 7 as Omar scalped 4-12 and Abdullah 2-12. Amratullah stroked 25 and Javed 17.
Tata Motors downed ADI-XI by 66 runs. Tata Motors, asked to bat first, plundered 183 for 3 through Irfan Qureshi (44), Noor Butt (57 in 34 balls) and Amir (59 not out in 23 balls). ADI-XI could manage only 117, in reply. Adeel scored 32, Ejaz 28 and Fawaz 15. Irfan claimed 2-25 and Uzair 2-31. Wicketkeeper Noor Butt was responsible for 4 dismissals with 3 catches and a stumping.
Sadafco thrashed Brasa De Brazil by 5 wickets. Brasa De Brazil posted 155 for 9 with only Umair fighting a lone battle with 78 off 46 balls and Tahir adding 23. Six batsmen failed to open their account. Iqbal Patel had 3-28. Sadafco was home (156) for the loss of 5 wickets in 102 balls. Ali top scored with 73 in 48 balls with 9 fours, Fahad added 27 and Muneer 15. Bilal took 2-33.
ALJ Toyota thumped QRCC by 52 runs. ALJ Toyota, champion of the Modern Pioneer Morning Tournament, began its account in SCC T20 with a comfortable win. Tanveer Zamane slammed an unbeaten 72 in 40 balls with 11 hits to the fence as he first added 70 runs with Basheer (50) and then he stitched together 127 for the 2nd wicket with Azeem (70 in 34 balls). Zahid remained unbeaten on 23 as the team scored 226 for 2. QRCC, in reply, could manage only 174 for 2 as Sadiq Memon tried his best with an unbeaten 73 (2 sixes and 10 fours) and Abdul Rauf smashed an unbeaten 64 in 48 balls (4 sixes and 4 fours).
Ralco humbled Jeddah Challengers by 92 runs. Ralco piled up 180 for 8 thanks to Qasad (78 in 36 balls) and Naeem (47). Anees took 2-6 and Basit 2-18. Jeddah Challengers, in reply, crashed for 88 with only Faisal making 39 and Omar 15. Sajid Khan took 4-26 and Sajid Mughal 4-11.
