Hasa Modern principal gets award from India prez

JEDDAH — Kazi Muhammad Siddique Haseeb, the principal of the Hasa Modern International School in Al Ahsa, was awarded the National Award 2014 for the best teacher. He received the National Award from the President of India, Pranab Mukherjee.
Haseeb is the only person chosen for the award from the Gulf Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) — Schools. Earlier he received the best teacher award in 2012, and got the best mentor award from the Indian government in 2013.
The National Award includes a silver medal, certificate and Rs.50,000 as award money. Overall 338 teachers were given the National Award 2014. These awards were instituted in 1958. From mid sixties onward, Sept. 5 has come to be the date of investiture to accord public recognition to meritorious teachers working in elementary and secondary schools.
Instituted in 1958, the National Award to Teachers are given away by the President of India on Sept. 5 (Teacher's Day) every year to give public recognition to meritorious teachers working in primary, middle and secondary schools. Altogether there are 374 awards out of which 20 awards are reserved for Sanskrit, Persian and Arabic teachers.
Each state/union territory/organization has an earmarked quota based on the number of teachers. The scheme also covers teachers of the schools affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) including teachers of independent affiliated schools situated abroad, Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE), Sainik School, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS), Central Tibetan School Administration (CTSA) and schools run by the Atomic Energy Education Society.
Hasa Modern International School was founded on May 5, 2001, and has since achieved a significant mark in the Gulf. In the year 2006, Feb. 5, the school got affiliated to CBSE and has operated exclusively to provide quality education not only to Indian children but also to other non Saudis living in the Eastern Province of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The school offers educational facilities to Primary, Secondary, and Higher Secondary levels.
The curriculum, in each subject area, reflects a coherent, orderly progress through grades. There is a definite unity among the various subjects in each grade. The curriculum and program of work is in accordance with the requirements of the CBSE.
