Mishal Al-Otaibi Saudi Gazette RIYADH — A video clip recently circulated on the social media purportedly showing firing on a police station in Riyadh is fake, the police here announced in a statement on Monday. Col. Fawwaz Bin Jameel Al-Miman, spokesman of Riyadh Police, categorically denied the incident and said there was no firing on any police station or any security department in any area. The spokesman maintained that the video was bogus and was filmed by three young men just for the sake of fun. "When the video was analyzed by concerned officials, three young men were suspected and their car was identified," he said. Miman said the security patrols arrested the three young suspects and their car in a record time. "The three suspects admitted that they filmed the video just for fun," he said. The spokesman said one of the three suspects aimed the pistol holster at a police station, faked the shotgun sound, the second filmed the video while the third was driving the car. He said the three suspects were detained and their car and mobile phones were confiscated. The spokesman said the suspects were handed over to the concerned authorities for investigations and trial. He asked young Saudis to stay away from such irresponsible behaviors which are incriminated by the law because they may harm not only the wrong-doers but the society at large.
