Saudi Gazette report RIYADH — The Shoura Council on Monday approved carrying out studies about preparing a draft law to establish a commission for motherhood and childhood. Yahya Al-Samaan, assistant president of the Council, said that the committee for social and family affairs has presented a report containing the draft law proposal. The session was chaired by the Council President Sheikh Abdullah Al-Asheikh, the Saudi Press Agency reported. According to the proposal, the 12-article draft law aims at addressing the pressing issues in the absence of a national strategy for motherhood and childhood. The Council also started deliberations about the draft partnership agreement between the Labor Ministry and Vietnam's Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs with regard to hiring domestic workers from that country. Al-Samaan said the Council approved the second five year national plan for communications and information technology.
