RIYADH – The Shoura Council approved on Tuesday the draft law to transfer online data of employees working in the private sector to the National Information Center under the Ministry of Interior. Maj. Gen. Muhamamd Abu Saq, head of the security affairs committee, read the system, known as shumoos security system, at the session, chaired by its President Sheikh Abdullah Al-Asheikh. Fahaad Al-Hamad, Assistant President of the Council, said the Council discussed the annual report of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. Taking part in deliberations, members of the council called for measures to protect consumers from counterfeit products that flood the local market. One member noted that about 80 percent of those working in the retail sector are foreigners and they are involved in cover up (tasattur) business. He called for setting up of a new agency to combat the tasattur phenomenon.
