NEW YORK — Rookie Francisco Lindor tripled home two runs in a three-run sixth inning while rookie Cody Anderson and two relievers led the Cleveland Indians to a 4-0 victory over the Detroit Tigers in their American League outing.
The right-handed Anderson (3-3) walked two and struck out three in seven innings.
Yankees 6, Rays 4: Catcher Brian McCann and designated hitter Alex Rodriguez homered on consecutive pitches by Chris Archer in the bottom of the sixth inning as the New York Yankees rallied for a 6-4 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays.
Archer took a one-hitter into the sixth but the momentum changed when McCann hit his career high 25th home run with two on before Rodriguez drove a first-pitch fastball into the first few rows of the right field seats.
Blue Jays 10, Orioles 4: Jose Bautista hit a home run and had three RBIs as the Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Baltimore Orioles.
Bautista added an RBI double to his first-inning, two-run homer while Troy Tulowitzki also hit a two-run homer and center fielder Kevin Pillar added a solo shot.
Blue Jays right-hander Marco Estrada (12-8) allowed two hits, including a home run to third baseman Ryan Flaherty, and four walks and two runs in five innings.
In other games it was: Astros 8, Twins 5; White Sox 7, Royals 5; Angels 7, Rangers 0; Mariners 3, A's 2.
National League
Reds 6, Brewers 3: Jay Bruce and Brandon Phillips homered while Michael Lorenzen earned his first victory since being recalled from Triple-A as the Cincinnati Reds posted a 6-3 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers.
Lorenzen (4-8) allowed two runs in 5-1/3 innings for Cincinnati.
Ryan Braun hit his 25th home run for Milwaukee.
Marlins 4, Mets 3: Third baseman Martin Prado had his second walk-off RBI in three days as the Miami Marlins beat the NL-East-leading New York Mets.
With one out and the bases loaded in the ninth inning, Prado lined a sacrifice fly to left fielder Yoenis Cespedes, who made a leaping grab but his throw home could not beat pinch-runner J.T. Realmuto.
Nationals 8, Braves 4: Washington left fielder Jayson Werth cracked a three-run homer off Atlanta starter Manny Banuelos in a five-run second inning as the Nationals cruised to an 8-4 victory over the Braves.
Bryce Harper hit his 34th homer, his third in as many days, while Anthony Rendon added a solo shot for Washington.
Cubs 6, Diamondbacks 4: The Chicago Cubs got a grand slam by catcher Miguel Montero and a long home run by Kris Bryant in a 6-4 victory against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Bryant went 1-for-3 with his 23rd homer, Montero went 2-for-3 with his slam in the Cubs' five-run sixth inning while Justin Grimm (3-4) was credited with the win after throwing a scoreless inning in relief of starter Kyle Hendricks.
Rubby De La Rosa (12-7) took the loss for Arizona after going five-plus innings and allowing three earned runs.
Giants 7, Rockies 4: San Francisco ace Madison Bumgarner minimized the damage when he loaded the bases with no outs twice to lead the Giants to a 7-4 win over the Colorado Rockies.
Dodgers 5, Padres 1: Left-hander Brett Anderson allowed one run in 5-2/3 innings, while the Los Angeles Dodgers broke open a one-run game on a three-run, seventh-inning throwing error by Padres reliever Nick Vincent in a 5-1 victory over San Diego.
Pirates 7, Cardinals 1: Starting pitcher Gerrit Cole gave up two hits over seven shutout innings to help the Pittsburgh Pirates to a 7-1 victory over St. Louis, cutting the Cardinals' National League Central lead to 5-1/2 games.
Inter-League
Red Sox 6, Phillies 2: Boston designated hitter David Ortiz belted a two run shot, his 497th career homer to kick start the Red Sox to a 6-2 win over the Phillies.
Ortiz then drove in Mookie Betts with a sacrifice fly in his next at bat in the second inning to give the Red Sox a 6-0 lead. — Reuters
