NEW YORK — J.D. Martinez slugged three home runs and drove in six runs as Detroit drubbed Masahiro Tanaka and snapped a four-game losing streak with a 12-4 rout of New York in the American League Sunday.
Martinez, who had never hit more than one home run in a game, was joined in the home run column by Victor Martinez, who drove in four runs for the Tigers in his third game since coming off the disabled list.
Indians 1, Rays 0: David Murphy's sacrifice fly with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning drove in the winning run as Cleveland shut out Tampa Bay.
The win went to reliever Cody Allen (1-2), who pitched the top of the ninth. Right-hander Cody Anderson, making his major league debut, was impressive in going 7-2/3 scoreless innings on six hits.

Reds 5, Marlins 2: Jay Bruce snapped a 2-2 tie with a two-run homer and rookie Michael Lorenzen settled down to turn in seven solid innings as Cincinnati bounced back to beat Miami.
Todd Frazier also hit a two-run homer, and Lorenzen (3-2) helped himself with an RBI single as the Reds completed a 3-1 homestand.
