Mövenpick Hotel Jeddah launched on Sept. 5 a week-long campaign to support the Disabled Children Association Center and HOPE for Exceptional Needs in observance of the United Nations International Day of Charity. The campaign invites guests and children to donate school supplies and children's books for the charity and as a small gesture of appreciation, the hotel gives Mövenpick complimentary ice cream. The charity event, dubbed “A Kilo of Kindness for a Treat of Ice Cream”, will last until Sept. 12, and Mövenpick Hotel Jeddah is one of 15 Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts in the Middle East and Asia region taking part. “Our mission for this initiative is to express goodwill, compassion, and support for children with exceptional needs,” said Mövenpick Hotel Jeddah General Manager Omar Boujlid. “We are happy to give a little happiness to children with disabilities.” Donation boxes for the Disabled Children Association Center and HOPE for Exceptional Needs are located at the hotel's lobby area Delicia café. The “Kilo of Kindness” philanthropic initiative is part of Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts' global sustainability program Shine, which aims to give back to the communities where the company operates properties. Shine focuses on three pillars - Environment, Employer and Sustainability - with Education the most important thread, common to each. — SG
