Saudi Arabia is a very rich oil producing country; why would it not invest in its schools, in its children, in the installation of air-conditioning units in classrooms and in the safe transportation of female teachers? Children are the future of the nation. Anne-Marie Poirier I saw a video in which a man fainted because of the heat and people around were helping him. The Ministry of Education should have had enough sense to look at the weather conditions and postpone the opening of school for a few more days. If an adult cannot tolerate this heat, then how can someone expect children to be able to do so? The education minister should step out of his air-conditioned car for 10 minutes in this weather and then ask himself whether or not it is safe for our children to go to school. Night Fury I think they should have postponed the beginning of the school term for several reasons, the main reason being it is way too hot and I believe that the schools are not capable of taking care of children in this weather. I can see a lot of kids getting sick and passing out. We have been told it is a heatwave, yet we're still supposed to send our children to school. With Eid Al-Adha being so close and the weather being so harsh, I think they should have just postponed the start of term. Inaayah Ahmed
