Aijaz Ahmed Khan JEDDAH — Eirad Travel and ECU Lines beat their rivals to set up the final for the Jotun League title, sponsored by Jotun Saudi Arabia and organized by JCA. While Eirad Travel beat Jamoom Fighters by 111 runs, ECU lines had the better of MB Stars by 99 runs in the semis. Eirad Travel scored 213 runs in its allotted quota of overs for the loss of 9 wickets. Riaz Afridi did the bulk of the scoring, 63 inclusive of 5 sixes and 3 fours. He was supported by Asghar (23 - 3 sixes, 1 four), Shad (48 - 5 fours, 3 sixes), Naeem (21 - 2 fours). Usman (2-21) and Saeed Ahmad (2-30) bowled well with support from Usman, Waseem and Azam, who picked up a wicket each. In reply, Jamoom Fighters were bundled out for a paltry 102. Usman Iqbal (30) and Usman (21) were the only ones to offer resistance. Penetrative bowling from M. Islam (2-19), Asghar (2-28), Baber (2-26), Shad (1-22) and Riaz (1-9) gave Eirad Travel an 11-run win and a spot in the final. In the other semifinal, ECU Lines scored 220 for the loss of 6 wickets. Leading the way was Javed with a scintillating knock of 113 off 50 balls. He struck 17 fours and 4 huge sixes and received good support from Imran (21) and A. Rahman 34 (6 fours and 1 six). Mouzam bowled well taking 2-39, while Faisal, Qasid, Ateeq and Hasnain picked up a wicket each. MB Stars, in reply, was bundled out for 122. Ateeq (25), Ameen (15) and Husnain (14) were the only ones to reach double figures. Manzoor struck gold picking up 5-25, while Umar and Imran bagged 2 wickets each for 15 and 4, respectively, to give ECU Lines a big win by 99 runs and a place in the final against Eirad Travels.
