Eirad Travel and Khulais win in Jotun League

JEDDAH — Eirad Travel and Khulais came out on top in the 5th week matches of Jotun League sponsored by Jotun Saudi Arabia and organized by Jeddah Cricket Association.

In the other matches Huta Group and ECU Lines scored impressive wins.

Huta Group beat Jamoom Fighters by 11 runs. Huta Group posted 201 runs with Tahir scoring 40 off 17 balls (7 fours, 1 six), Rizwan 53 (7 fours, 1 six) and Zafar 41 not out (4 fours, 1 six). Sayeed bowled with fire taking 5 for 18. In reply, Jamoom Fighters was restricted to 190 for 6. Zulfiqar (28) and Naeem (40) were the only batsmen to offer resistance as the innings folded at 190 for 6 with Rizwan taking 3-22 and Altaf 2-39.

ECU Lines thrashed Kashmir-XI by 9 wickets. Kashmir mustered 160. Sami (28), Hamid (31) and Farhan (37) were among the runs as Izhar (4 for 24), Manzoor (2 for 27), Imran (2 for 26) and Zain (2 for 60) bowled well. ECU Lines raced to 161 for 1 with a polished 81 off 36 balls by Umar (13 fours, 2 sixes). Javed remained unbeaten on 40.

Khulais thumped Pak Young by 6 wickets. Pak Young was restricted to 163 for 5. Asad Nabi hit 63 (4 fours and 4 sixes), Junaid 42 (5 fours and 2 sixes) and Fazal Khattak 34 not out (3 fours and 2 sixes).

Hafiz Ismail, Imran and Ansar bagged a wicket apiece. Khulais scored 165 for 4 thanks to Akmal (41), Hafiz Ismail (43 not out) and Imran (21). Younus took 2 for 20.

Eirad Travel beat Ittihad by 15 runs. Eirad Travel posted 185 for 9 wickets with Shad Khan (44), Ijaz 66 (13 fours, 1 six) putting up a fine performance with the bat. Jamil shone with the ball taking 5-31 and received good support from Azam (2-20) and Usman (2-37). In reply, Ittihad was poised for a win thanks to Rizwan (26), Fahad (22) and Jameel (30) but Bilal 3 for 36, Shad Khan 2 for 32 and Usman 2 for 3 restricted them to 170 for 9. — SG
