RIYADH — The South Indian Organization Tamil Nadu Thowheed Jamath (TNTJ) Riyadh chapter organized its 35th Blood Donation Camp on Friday in coordination with King Fahd Medical City (KFMC) on the eve of India's Independence Day. The camp started from Morning 8.30 a.m. and lasted till 4.00 p.m. A large number of TNTJ volunteers participated in the mega blood donation drive to make it a huge success. More than 110 volunteers registered and altogether donated 93 units. Donors included community members from neighbor states of Kerala and Andhra Pradesh. The KFMC Lab team led by James provided full support to TNTJ volunteers. The Laboratory Director Saud Al Anazi thanked TNTJ organizers for organizing the blood donation drive and continuing to do this noble work. Further, he said, so far in the KFMC blood donation campaign, TNTJ is the only organization that has been contributing immensely to the cause, with such large numbers of donors in each campaign. TNTJ Blood Donation campaign coordinator Haja said, “So far his organization (TNTJ) has conducted 34 camps and TNTJ continues to be the No. 1 ranked organization for the last 10 years in donating blood.” He added, “The hospital authorities have presented more than 15 awards to TNTJ praising their noble contribution. By the grace of Almighty Allah, Riyadh TNTJ will continue to be No. 1 in voluntary blood donation campaign in the Gulf country. And in recognition of their noble contribution, TNTJ has been feted repeatedly by the Ministry of Health both here in Saudi Arabia and by the Tamil Nadu state government.” Riyadh TNTJ President Irshad Ahmed said, “TNTJ organizes voluntary blood donation campaign for the emergency requirements of the hospital as well as special camp for Umrah and Haj season. We conduct these camps according to the verse of noble Quran Chapter 5 verse 32 ‘Whoever saves a life will be as if he has saved entire mankind', which will create social harmony and raze hatred among us. Further, it will clear misconceptions about Islam and Muslims as wrongly projected by Western media and others.” — SG
