LOS ANGELES — Left-hander Clayton Kershaw extended his streak of consecutive scoreless innings to 37 while leading the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 3-1 victory over the Los Angeles Angels in an Inter-League game Saturday in front of 52,979 at Dodger Stadium. Kershaw (9-6) retired the final 14 batters he faced, permitted only two hits and a walk and finished with seven strikeouts in eight innings. The left-hander took the mound in the top of the ninth inning to an ovation, but was replaced by right-handed closer Kenley Jansen when C.J. Cron was announced as a pinch hitter. The Angels lost their fifth consecutive game to match their longest losing streak this year. Angels manager Mike Scioscia was ejected in the second inning by plate umpire Chris Segal for arguing balls and strikes. Astros 9, Diamondbacks 2: Catcher Hank Conger and shortstop Carlos Correa each hit two home runs as the Houston Astros produced a 9-2 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks. Conger clubbed his seventh and eighth home runs, the second of which was a grand slam, while Correa hit his 11th and 12th to account for the Astros' four homers and eight of their nine RBIs. Giants 9, Rangers 7 (11 innings): San Francisco right fielder Hunter Pence blasted a solo homer to left in the 11th inning to lift the Giants to a 9-7 come-from-behind win over Texas. The Giants trailed by three in the eighth inning against new Texas starter Cole Hamels but rallied against the Rangers bullpen and set the stage for Pence. American League Red Sox 11, Rays 7: Third baseman Travis Shaw slugged the first two home runs of his major league career and had three RBIs as the Boston Red Sox produced an 11-7 win over the Tampa Bay Rays. A's 5, Indians 1: Right-hander Aaron Brooks allowed one run in 7-1/3 innings in his Oakland debut while shortstop Marcus Semien hit a solo home run to lift the A's to a 5-1 victory over the Cleveland Indians. Brooks (1-0) came to the A's on Tuesday from Kansas City along with minor-league right-hander Sean Manaea in a trade for utility man Ben Zobrist. Brooks was pitching for Triple-A Omaha at the time, but the A's promoted the southern California native to the big leagues. He gave up five hits, struck out five and walked none. National League Padres 5, Marlins 3: San Diego right-hander Odrisamer pitched the Padres to a 5-3 victory over the Marlins. Despaigne allowed five hits, one walk and three runs in six-plus innings. He struck out five and improved his record to 5-7. Mets 3, Nationals 2: First baseman Lucas Duda accounted for all of the New York Mets' runs in a 3-2 victory over the Washington Nationals. Duda clubbed two solo home runs and drove in the deciding run with a double that scored Curtis Granderson, who had led off the eighth inning with a double to give the Mets a 3-2 lead. Rockies 6, Cardinals 2: Jorge De La Rosa was on the mound for Colorado's first win in St. Louis since May 12, 2013, tossing 6-2/3 solid innings in a 6-2 verdict over the St. Louis Cardinals.
