RIYADH — The Ministry of Health declared Jazan Health Director is innocent from accusations of wrongfully rejecting a transfer request and acting unprofessionally against an elderly woman in his office, Al-Riyadh reported. A source from the ministry reported a video went viral on social media a few weeks ago of an elderly woman demanding Jazan Health Affairs Director to transfer her daughter, who works for the ministry, to another city. “The applicant was newly employed on 12th November 2014. She applied to be transferred from the village she worked in into another city, closer to her home and family. The transference application was rejected because there was no acceptance of employment from the hospital she plans to work in in her desired city,” said the source. The source added the employee came in with her mother, sister and brother to the director's office with an impolite attitude. “The video was taken by the applicant's sister as they were all teasing the director and trying to get a violation out of him on camera. The family posted the video on social media and the director later complained to the municipality of the incident,” said the source. The source added the director was accused of accessing the ministry's e-portal and deleting the applicant's transfer. “The accusation is completely false as the director is not authorized by the ministry to access its portal. He is only required to approve of the application if the destination of transfer plans to employ the applicant immediately. Since there was not document proving the applicant will be employed once transferred, the director was unable to approve it,” said the source. The source also said the director's transgression on the woman and her daughter was not tolerable by the ministry. “The director shouldn't have yelled at them and kicked them out of his office. Having said that, the applicant shouldn't have approached in the way she did and took a video to post on social media. She could've just contact any official from the ministry and filing her case if she believes there was discrepancy in her application,” said the source.
