RIYADH — Saudi Courts have reviewed 27,526 cases in the Holy Month of Ramadan, according to the Ministry of Justice, Al-Hayat daily reported. Forty-five judges in 41 courts all over the country will be working during Eid Al-Fitr Holidays to handle urgent cases, the ministry said. The statistics showed that civil cases recorded the highest percentage of reviewed cases at 12,577, constituting 53.4 percent of total cases. The cases requiring quick final judgments reached 9,527 accounting for 40.5 percent, followed by criminal cases at 1,440 (6.1 percent). The criminal courts reviewed 3,790 cases (95.2 percent of the total cases) as well as 192 civil cases (8.4 percent). Riyadh came first with 1,304 civil cases and 91 cases requiring quick final judgments reviewed by the general court, and 1,242 criminal cases and 138 civil cases reviewed by criminal courts, followed by Makkah with 467 civil cases and 407 ones requiring quick final judgments looked into by the general court and 337 criminal cases and two civil cases by the criminal court. In Madinah, the general court reviewed three criminal cases, a case requiring quick final judgments, and 923 cases while the criminal court reviewed 241 criminal cases and a civil case. In Jeddah, the general court reviewed 18 criminal cases, 34 cases requiring quick final judgments, and 868 cases while the criminal court reviewed 581 criminal cases and six civil cases. In Dammam, the general court reviewed 25 cases requiring quick final judgments and 783 cases while the criminal court reviewed 109 criminal cases and a civil case. In Al-Ahsa, the general court reviewed five criminal cases, 483 cases requiring quick final judgments, and 469 civil cases while the criminal court reviewed 144 criminal cases. In Alkhobar, the general court reviewed four criminal cases, 228 cases requiring quick final judgments, and 345 cases while the criminal court reviewed 100 criminal cases and 13 civil cases. In Taif, the general court reviewed nine criminal cases, 421 cases requiring quick final judgments, and 572 cases while the criminal court reviewed 241 criminal cases and a civil case. In Buraidah, the general court reviewed 508 cases requiring quick final judgments and 692 cases while the criminal court reviewed 97 criminal cases and 12 civil cases. In Khamis Mushayt, the general court reviewed 13 criminal cases, 459 cases requiring quick final judgments, and 519 civil cases while the criminal court reviewed 103 criminal cases and a civil case. In Tabuk, the general court reviewed a criminal case, 252 cases requiring quick final judgments, and 374 cases while the criminal court reviewed 113 criminal cases and 11 civil cases. In Najran, the general court reviewed two criminal cases, 424 cases requiring quick final judgments, and 338 civil cases while the criminal court reviewed 19 criminal cases and a civil case. In Jazan, the general court reviewed 22 criminal cases, 180 cases requiring quick final judgments, and 160 civil cases while the criminal court reviewed 112 criminal cases and two civil cases. In Sakaka, the general court reviewed 55 criminal cases, 102 cases requiring quick final judgments, and 158 cases while the general court of Arar reviewed 68 criminal cases, 101 non-civil cases and 232 civil cases.
