JEDDAH — Two Saudi men were sentenced to prison and banned from travel after being convicted of involvement in terrorist activities abroad. Jeddah Penal Court found the men guilty of traveling to Syria, making contacts with a terrorist group, taking part in training and fighting alongside members of the group. The court sentenced one of the men to three years in prison and banned him from travel for three years after his release. The second man was sentenced to five years in prison and a travel ban of 10 years after his release. In addition to other charges, the court found him guilty of failing to inform the authorities when terrorist operatives made contacts with him. He was also accused of getting training in the use of explosives. Both men were given 30 days to appeal their sentences.
