Saudi Gazette report JEDDAH — The Kingdom sincerely supports all measures to end the crisis in Yemen, the Cabinet said on Monday. The weekly meeting of the Council of Ministers, presided over by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, also reiterated the Kingdom's rejection of any foreign intervention in the internal affairs of Yemen unless there was a request to that effect from the country's legitimate government. The Cabinet also supported the communique issued at the end of the meeting of the foreign ministers of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) countries supporting the legitimacy of the Yemen government and the country's unity and integrity, Saudi Press Agency said. The Cabinet also voiced concern at the failure of Geneva consultations on Yemen, but appreciated the efforts of the United Nations toward implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 2216. Dr. Adel Bin Zaid Al-Turaifi, minister of culture and information, said the Cabinet offered sincere congratulations to King Salman, the crown prince, the deputy crown prince, the people of the Kingdom and the Islamic and Arab peoples on the advent of the holy month of Ramadan. He also stressed on a complete rejection of sectarian classification to safeguard the nation's cohesion. The Council thanked King Salman for his assertion that confidence in Saudi citizens is limitless and that there will be no leniency with any negligence and holding accountable anyone breaching the security, religious and firm national principles. Dr. Al-Turaifi said the Cabinet was briefed on the recent visit of Deputy Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, second deputy premier and minister of defense, to Russia. The Cabinet expressed its satisfaction over the several agreements and memoranda of understanding signed between Saudi Arabia and Russia and the wide-ranging talks the deputy crown prince had with President Vladimir Putin and other senior officials. Agreements with Russia, the Cabinet noted, will deepen the two countries' cooperation in all fields with the aim of serving the interests of the two friendly peoples and enhancing security and stability in the region. On national issues, the Cabinet approved several appointments. Also, after considering of Shoura Council resolution, the Cabinet decided to approve the memorandum of understanding on political consultations between the Kingdom and Uruguay signed in Jeddah last year.
