MAKKAH — Government departments in Makkah have completed all preparations to receive over 3 million Umrah pilgrims during Ramadan. The preparations have been undertaken in line with the directives of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and supervision of Emir of Makkah Prince Khaled Al-Faisal. Brig. Gen. Muhammad Al-Ahmadi, commander of the Special Force for the Grand Mosque's Security, appealed to citizens and expatriates living in Makkah and neighboring cities to postpone performing Umrah this Ramadan because of the construction work taking place within the Grand Mosque. He added that opportunities should be given to pilgrims from abroad.
