Toastmasters Youth Leadership program held in Jubail

JUBAIL — Elite Toastmasters club of Al Jubail conducted Youth Development Program, YLP -2015. The youth Leadership Program was uniquely designed and its motto was “Lead them to lead” and aims to impart communication and leadership skills to children between the Age Group of 8 – 13, preparing the adolescents to face challenges in ones' life with strong positive personalities, willing to lead and guide others.
The Elite YLP trained 29 students from the International Indian School, Mariya International School, Al Hussan School, International School Group, and Pakistan International School all from Al-Jubail KSA. The program taught the students communication and leadership skills over 9 weeks in a unique “Learning by Doing” approach of the Toastmasters International.
Eminent & seasoned toastmasters from Jubail Toastmasters Fraternity, conducted 12 workshops on specialized and specific speech projects and was designed in such a way that each youth leaders got to perform the assignments that helped them develop their public speaking skills, listening skills, organizing skills and leadership skills.
The grand finale was held at the Mariya International School Auditorium in Jubail. It helped the youth leaders showcase their talents in international speech, table topics and speech evaluation. The event was attended by 250 people, comprising of dignitaries, heads of educational institutions, toastmasters division officials, youth leaders and their parents.
Chief coordinator of Elite YLP – 2015 was Manivannan. He welcomed the guests and gave an introductory speech about the purpose of the program. Division L Gov. Periyanayaham, director marketing & strategic planning, Farabi Petrochemicals, was the chief guest and he gave an inspiring keynote speech titled “The Cs that will see you through” emphasizing the critical traits for life success.
Owner of Mariya International School Abdullah Saeed Al Ghamdi, Mohammed Saeed Al Ghamdi, and Director Afshan Milhan, along with toastmasters, Jacob Koriyakose, PJJ Antony, Ajay Kumar Das, Mohammed Jamil Akhtar, Aziz Ahmed Siddiqui, Asif Ali Siddiqui, Safare Mohammed, Ajith Kumar, Zainudeen, Sadagoppan, Koteeswaran, Mohan and members of various Toastmasters Clubs in Al Jubail, parents of the participating children attended.
The grand finale saw three contests of very high quality. And the Youth Leaders who had won the competitions are:
International Speech Contest: Winner – YL Mark Ashraf Wahib, 1st Runner up – YL Bareera Nasir, 2nd Runner up – YL Shreya Chaudhary.
Table Topic ( Impromptu Speech) Contest : Winner – YL Teja Balasubramanian, 1st Runner Up – YL Jane Sabastian, 2nd Runner UP – YL Rooman Asif.

Evaluation Contest – Winner – YL Pathmakarthik Jothi, 1st Runner Up – YL Ashwin Sateesh, 2nd Runner Up – YL Vishnu Madhu Sudhan.

Winners of the contests were awarded with Trophies and Certificates.
All 29 Youth Leaders were presented with mementoes and certificates for their successful completion of Youth Leadership Program. The entire program and the grand finale event received rich accolades for nurturing our generation next from the Chief Ambassador of Toastmasters, Syed Waheed Lateef. He appreciated the chief organizer Manivanan and his team for their effort in organizing a very successful program. — SG
