JEDDAH – Students of Indian schools in Saudi Arabia have scored excellent results in All India Secondary School Examination (AISSE-Class 10). An analysis of the results announced on Thursday showed almost all schools came out with a 100 percent success rate. The schools teaching the CBSE curriculum included international Indian schools in Jeddah, Riyadh, Dammam, Jubail and Tabuk and many private-run international schools. According to the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation System (CCE) introduced by the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, 70 percent of the marks are awarded by way of Formative Assessment (FA) and Summative Assessment (SA-1) by the respective schools. The remaining 30 percent is awarded through the year-end SA-2 examination. The students have the option of choosing either the School-Based Evaluation (SBE) or the Board-Based Evaluation. Accordingly, total marks of students who opt for SBE are awarded by the schools themselves. Highlights of the results All the 831 students who had appeared for the examination from International Indian School-Jeddah have been qualified. Thirty girls and 19 boys scored Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 10/10 and A1 grade. After the introduction of CCE, the class 10 examination has become less stressful, said Syed Masood Ahmed, principal of IISJ. “In contrast to the general trend of students opting for SBE, all 831 students of IISJ had opted for Board-Based SA-2,” he said. IISJ Managing Committee Chairman Mohammed Abdul Raziq and members of the committee congratulated the students for their outstanding performance. IIS Dammam International Indian School-Dammam presented the largest number of students for CBSE Class 10 examination this year and produced the largest number of students securing 10 CGPA not only in Saudi Arabia but in the entire Gulf region. A total of 992 students appeared for the exam and all of them cleared with good scores. Two students were absent. Ninety students received 10 CGPA and A1 grades in all subjects. A total of 39 students secured 9.8 points while 35 students got 9.6, and 63 students 9.4. “It is a matter of pride. The students, teachers, parents and the managing committee deserve all the credit for the achievement. This was the outcome of dedication and hard work,” said E.K. Mohammed Shaffe, principal of IISD. Dr. Abdussalam Kanniyan, chairman of the managing committee, congratulated the students for their marvellous performance. IIS Riyadh A total of 746 students appeared for the examination at International Indian School Riyadh and all of them passed. Sixty-four students scored full CGPA points, according S.M. Shaukat Perwez, principal of the school. Hyder Ali, chairman of the managing committee, congratulated the students and thanked the teachers and the parents for giving full support to the students. IIS Jubail At the Jubail International Indian School, all 329 students who appeared for the exam passed. Forty-six of them won CGPA 10 points and 92 scored above 9 points. Principal Dr. Syed Hameed congratulated the students, teachers and parents for the outstanding performance. He also placed on record the managing committee's role for having declared the current year as the ‘'year of academic excellence'' and encouraging the students to do their best. IIS Tabuk Tabuk International Indian School made marvellous performance in both Class 12 and Class10 exams. Out of 20 students who appeared for AISSCE, 13 passed with distinction. Rizwana Muhammed of the science stream was the school's topper with 94.2 percent marks. Shenam Ayub and Sobia Askari came second and third with 83.6 percent and 82.4 percent marks respectively. In commerce, Hoorul Ain bagged the first position and Fatima Nisrin came second. Out of 44 students who wrote Class 10 exams, 34 passed in first class. School managing committee chairman Dr. Meraj Ali Khan, committee members and Principal S.M. Samsuddin congratulated the students and the staff for the excellent performance. Private schools All students appeared for the exam from private international schools also made outstanding performance. The Peevees Group of Schools scored 100 percent results. Out of 175 students who wrote the exams, 15 secured 10 CGPA points while 49 students 9 CGPA points. Jeddah's New Al-Wurood International School, Riyadh's Al-Yasmin International School and Dammam's Al-Khozama International School are runs by the Peevees Group. Out of a total of 91 students who appeared for the exam at Al-Wurood, four scored 10 CGPA points and 23 secured 9 plus. At Yasmin, out of 59 students appeared, seven secured 10 CGPA and 19 secured above 9 points. Out 25 students appeared for the exam at Al-Khozama, four secured 10 CGPA points. Jeddah's Al Falah International School (DPS, Jeddah) also scored 100 percent results. Out of a total 86 students, seven stole the limelight by obtaining 10 CGPA points while 37 secured 9 points and above. All students of Class 10 at Al-Mawarid International School passed the exam. Out of the total 103 students, 14 scored 10 CGPA points in all subjects while 13 students secured above 9 points. Shathi Al-Noor International School also scored 100 percent. Out of the total of 70 students, 19 scored 10 CGPA points while 25 secured 9 plus. Novel International School put up an impressive show with all 26 students who appeared for exam became eligible for higher studies. Out of 17 students who appeared for the exam at Dauha Al-Uloom International School, six scored10 CGPA points. Riyadh's Alif International School also registered 100 percent results.
