DAMMAM — The four victims of the recent suicide bombing near a Dammam mosque will be the first to be buried in a new cemetery outside the city. Mayor of Dammam Fahd Al-Jubair told Al-Hayat newspaper on Tuesday that the new graveyard will be 10 km away from Dammam and will cover an area of 300,000 square meters. The cemetery, named Al-Shuhada (martyrs), will be constructed along the Dammam-Riyadh Expressway. He said another spacious piece of land along the Saihat agricultural road donated by a philanthropist would also be used as a cemetery in the area. Residents expressed happiness over the move and said the gesture from Emir of the Eastern Province Prince Saud Bin Naif would alleviate the suffering that followed the attack outside Imam Hussain Mosque in Al-Anoud District. They said the mother of Mohammed and Abdul Jaleel Al-Arbash, who both died in the explosion, wished that her two sons would be buried near her in the city of Dammam, not in Saihat or Al-Ahsa. According to the residents, four people died consisting of the two Al-Arbash brothers, Hadi Radi Salman Al-Hashim and Mohammed Hassan Ali Al-Issa. The three injured victims were identified as Ahmed Abdullah Al-Abdul Karim, Hassan Ali Al-Sagheerat and Hassan Al-Nijaidi. They were all discharged from hospital after receiving treatment. They said 19 cars were totally burned or damaged in addition to the windows of the mosque and nearby buildings shattering. The funeral prayers for the victims will be performed in the town of Sihait and they will all be buried in the new cemetery. Meanwhile, Bassem Al-Aithan, spokesman for the victims' families, said the burial procedures for Mohammed Al-Issa and Abdul Jaleel Al-Arbash were completed but the other two are still being processed because their bodies were still being put together. “When we receive their remains, we will have to bury them within three hours otherwise they may decompose,” he said. Al-Aithan said volunteers who came from Al-Qudaih village to wash and shroud the remains said they had never seen such mutilated bodies before.
