Badea Abu Al-Naja Saudi Gazette MAKKAH — The "professional hotelier" program was launched Sunday evening at the Movenpick Hotel and Residences at Hajar Tower in Makkah simultaneously with its other chains in the Kingdom. Hotel manager Adel Erfan opened the function, stressing the hotel's determination to develop the national cadres and provide them with the opportunity to contribute to the hospitality sector. He said with the rapid development of the holy city of Makkah, there is a growing need for a professionally- trained national cadres to meet the requirements of the Kingdom's hospitality sector. Saudi men and women employees of the hotel attended the function, along with partners of success including journalists, academicians and representatives of the Technical College and the College of Excellence TQ. Ahmed Al-Thaqafi, director of the hotel's department of safety and security and Sultan Al-Thibaiti, director of the front desks told their success stories during the function. The program is aimed at further developing the skills of the national cadres and invest in them for a brighter professional hotelier future. The program took more than eight months to prepare. It consists of eight various sections designed to qualify and rehabilitate the Saudi staff, making them capable of competing in the international quality of products. The program also includes practical training to qualify the Saudi staff on professional international hospitality and professional hotel work. They will be trained on professional guest services, time management and cultural diversity of the occupants, especially that millions of people from various nationalities visit Makkah for Haj and Umrah.
