Cross country in a crossover
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 30 - 05 - 2015

A cross-country challenge? Traveling more than 2,000km? Exploring a new city every day? This is exactly what the social media celebrity Abdulaziz Al Jasmi – better known as Bin Baz - achieved when Mercedes-Benz offered him the new GLA 250 - the car that fits in anywhere but stands out everywhere.
Setting off from Dubai last week and completing the trip in Saudi Arabia, the 22 year old began the journey in style, navigating the city roads and stopping at urban hotspots before hitting the open road to Abu Dhabi. Eager to test the limits of the GLA 250 and experience the AMG promise of “Driving performance”, Bin Baz took to the F1 Yas Marina Circuit for a truly thrilling racing experience.
“The GLA 250 is made to carve up corners and not cut them and this is what Bin Baz has shown. Take it through the city or cross over into a desert wadi, the GLA 250 is your ideal motoring companion. We're delighted that Bin Baz chose this versatile crossover for a true cross country adventure, and shared the journey with his million plus followers on Instagram and through Snapchat. It allowed us to enjoy the ride!” said Dirk Fetzer, Director of Sales & Marketing at Daimler Middle East & Levant.
Moving from the fast paced city life of Dubai and the super circuit in Abu Dhabi, Bin Baz was looking for a different experience in Saudi Arabia. Keen to discover something new every day, he announced his arrival in Riyadh through Snapchat, asking his fans for suggestions on where he should go and what he should see. This led him to the Kingdom's capital city's busy business districts and famous spots such as Faisaliah Tower, before enjoying lunch at Najd Village. Leaving the city limits, Bin Baz then set off for an off-road adventure in the Tuwaiq mountains to experience the athletic performance and durability of the GLA 250.
Saudi Arabia is a big country with a lot to see, with this in mind Bin Baz continued his adventure road trip to Jeddah experiencing the outdoor spots on the way such as Camel Farm, Waba Crater & Taif to the city where he met his friends and shared the GLA experience cruising around the city. Fans too can have their own cross country adventure by following his GLA skid marks on his social media channels.
