I am writing with regard to the post "Why do expats want permanent Saudi residency?" (May 25). It is clear that those who entered Saudi Arabia by an Umrah or Haj visa, a visit visa, family visa or any other visa are and will remain only expats. But what about those who were born and raised in Saudi Arabia. To be fair to them, shouldn't they be at least granted permanent residence and be treated the same as the nation's citizens? Zuhaib Khan, Online response What about those expats who were born and brought up in Saudi Arabia? Those who grew up with Saudi friends? I was born in this land 50 years ago. All my friends are Saudis. Some of my relatives are Saudis. I studied completely at my own expense, yet I am contributing to the development of this wonderful nation. Why am I not entitled to obtain nationality? Mohammed, Online response
