I am writing with regard to the post “Permanent residency” (May 20). I was born in Saudi Arabia and brought up here. The last time I went to Pakistan was13 years ago, and when I went there I was really uncomfortable. If, God forbid, one day I am forced to leave Saudi Arabia, it will be impossible for me to survive in Pakistan. So I appeal and request on behalf of thousands like me either to provide Saudi nationality to those born in Saudi Arabia or to pass a law that Saudi-born expats can stay in the Kingdom forever. Waqas, Online response II. Being born anywhere else in the world (other than the GCC) makes you a citizen of the country immediately. Living in your birthplace is a birthright. For the sake of comparison, even Palestinians born in Israel become citizens of Israel immediately. Faisal, Online response III. My brothers and sisters and myself were all born in Saudi Arabia. We are Muslims and love the Kingdom and its Islamic culture. We have lived here all our life, but due to recent issues, we are in constant fear that if laws change, we will have to go back to our country. We cannot adapt to any other environment; even a short trip to Bahrain makes us uncomfortable. Something should be done for people like us. We love Saudi Arabia and want to live here forever. Faezaan, Online response IV. I born and brought up in Riyadh. I am 25 years old and have never gone to any other country since my birth. I think that the Saudi government should make a policy for expats born in the Kingdom. Naushad Ahmed, Online response
